This sensor uses MAX7219, which is an integrated serial input/output common cathode display driver. It connects the microprocessor to an 8-digit 7-segment digital LED display. It can also be connected to a bar graph display or 64 independent LEDs. Occupies less microprocessor resources. It includes an on-chip B-type BCD encoder, multi-channel scanning loop, segment driver, and an 8*8 static RAM to store each data. There is only one external register used to set the segment current of each LED, and the driving capability is strong. The segment driver of MAX7219 has reflow limitation to reduce EMI; the serial port of MAX7219 (up to 10MHz) is compatible with SPI; each data can be addressed and does not need to rewrite all displays when updating. The MAX7219 also allows the user to choose whether to encode or not encode each piece of data. The entire device contains a 150μA low-power shutdown mode, analog and digital brightness controls, a scan limit register allowing the user to display 1-8 bits of data, and a detection mode that lights all LEDs.

(1), VCC power supply is positive 5V; GND power supply is negative;
(2) DIN pin serial data input port, data is loaded into the internal 16-bit register at the rising edge of the clock;
(3) CS pin chip select terminal, when this terminal is low level, the serial data is loaded into the shift register, and the last 16 bits of the continuous data are locked on the rising edge of the CS terminal;
(4) CLK pin clock data input terminal, the maximum rate is 10MHz. On the rising edge of the clock, the data is moved into the internal shift register. On the falling edge, the data is output from the DOUT terminal;
(5) The DOUT pin is cascaded to the serial data output terminal. The data input from DIN is valid at this terminal after 16.5 clock cycles. When using multiple MAX7219, use this terminal to facilitate expansion.
